Daniel Beaumont is a private investor interested in speaking to businesses about opportunities to invest, buy or merge.
He have the funding in place to buy businesses outright, and is also interested in working with struggling businesses that need help to turn them around. Additionally, he specialises in working with different types of private investors.
Starting his career as a Chartered Accountant, working in Management Consulting and Transaction Services for various clients in different sectors, Daniel then moved into his family’s textile business before leading the sale of the business in 2017.
The sale allowed his parents (father Bill is the former England Rugby Union captain and World Rugby chairman Sir Bill Beaumont) to take semi-retirement, and himself the chance to explore new opportunities.
Since 2020 he had been dedicated to buying businesses and facilitating successful exits for business owners. Unlike many others, Daniel is in the market to buy or invest in businesses that many others walk away from, due to either being too small, not having reliable and repeatable profits.
“What sets me apart from most business buyers is that I will look at acquiring businesses that have some issues and hurdles to overcome.
I know many owners struggle to exit stressed businesses. This is often due to an emotional attachment to the business and the staff, financial obligations and the inability to be able sell a struggling business for a worthwhile sum of money.
I’m not particularly bothered about current performance or profitability, so if it’s lower than previous years, that’s OK as I like a challenge. I have successfully implemented turnaround strategies in my own businesses and on behalf of clients and have to experience, skills and know-how to help the owners of struggling businesses turn their business around and enable them to exit, either inside or outside of my group.
I have been able to overcome issues such as the lack of documented systems and processes – often the case in long-running, family owned manufacturing businesses - and when there has been no obvious succession planning and second tier management ready to step into the shoes of the departing owners.”
As a private investor Daniel has his own funding and a list of potential investors. He is not a broker or part of a chain. Ideally, he wants the businesses he buys or invests in to retain their management, team, unique identity, and reputation.
As a private investor, Daniel has no set investment structure or investment timeframe. His approach is unique to each and every business that he invests in to ensure the long-term future of each entity.
Some of the owners have started their business and been running them for decades. In some cases agreements have been in place to keep the name of the business and all the staff in place. Owners have stayed involved as consultants to ensure no disruption to the customers or staff.
For small businesses that need help expanding, Daniel can provide the necessary investment to fuel their growth. Some companies are doing well but need Daniel's help expanding. In these cases, would invest private investment money.
